This is a good concept because the valve can react very quickly and it only opens when it needs to.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, there are some problems with these valves;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe diaphragms are weak and known to rupture, especially if boost has been increased. Once this happens, the valve will no longer hold boost pressure.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe plastic lip that surrounds the diaphragm is very thin and pieces can break off, potentially ending up going through the turbo.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdditionally, the solenoid on the OE diverter is directly connected to the valve mechanism, which is not ideal because neither it nor the return spring are strong enough to open and close the valve reliably at high boost.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith problems like this, you can see why other aftermarket manufacturers assume the best solution is to replace the factory diverter entirely, or change it to a purely pneumatic system. Unfortunately though, whilst their replacement kits might be stronger than the factory diverter, their slower response speed and lower flow do not justify the extra cost and complexity - more of a compromise than a solution.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGFB has taken a different approach to deliver a complete solution that solves existing problems and improves performance, without compromise or a hefty price tag.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe DV+ addresses the factory valve problems with a very simple and elegant solution. Keeping the factory solenoid, the DV+ retains all the benefits of the stock system. Also replacing the valve parts with indestructable metal components ensures strength and reliability, no matter how much boost you run.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat’s not all; rather than using the solenoid to directly actuate the valve, we’ve introduced a unique “pilot-actuation” system. One handset can work on 5 different E6 Spec vehicles only. (Fiesta ST MK8, Mustang Face- lift, Focus ST MK4) As long as you “return to stock” before choosing to use the handset on another vehicle. You cannot keep  a tune file on your car and sell the device on as it will not work. Each time the handset is used to program a vehicle with a different VIN number to the last, a life will be lost. Once the handset is married to a VIN you can flash between tune files and return to stock an unlimited number of times. Once the handset detects a new VIN, It will then use one life. There are 5 lives in total.  Therefore, you can sell the device on and the new keeper can have access to the iMaps ability to read and clear codes, plus all data logging functions. Tune files will only work on the new owners car if the vehicle is the same model and shares the same ECU strategy number. If the new keepers ECU strategy number doesn’t match the tune file will not work. The new keeper will have to contact us so we can rebuild the custom tune files to suit the new ECU Calibration.
